About us

Green Elephant Biotech builds adherent cell expansion systems that are smaller, simpler, and scalable — designed to take iPSC, MSC, and macrophage processes from R&D through to clinical production without the handling burden of flasks, roller bottles, or multi-layer stacks.

At our booth you can handle a CellScrew® vessel and see how a single unit does the work of a benchful of flasks. We'll also be walking through Archimedes® One — how it brings adherent workflows into automated bioprocessing, with automated medium change and harvest that take the manual steps out of the process. Our team is there for both sides of the conversation: the biology, and the numbers behind scaling it.

Two things worth asking about at the show: Archimedes® One is now open for pre-order — come talk to us about configuration, timelines, and budget pricing. And we're presenting the newest application data from our CellScrew®, available to download.

Founded in 2021, we develop and manufacture our systems in Germany, operating from Berlin and Gießen.

CellScrew® - Adherent cell culture flask

High surface area. Compact footprint. The CellScrew® expands adherent cells for advanced therapies in a single compact vessel — over 100× the growth surface of a T-75 flask, in over 90% less incubator space.

Built for cell and gene therapies, vaccines, and biologics, it takes your process from research to clinical manufacturing without the flask-handling burden that usually comes with scale.

Why CellScrew®

  • Less vessels = less work. One CellScrew® 10K replaces up to 133 T-75 flasks or 12 roller bottles — lower handling risk, fewer contamination points, optimized incubator space.

  • Scale with confidence. Reproducible results across every stage, from mini to 10K — and a clear path to automation with Archimedes® One when you're ready to take the manual steps out.

  • The right size for every scale. CellScrew® 10K (10,000 cm²), 6K (6,000 cm²), and mini (850 cm²) — pick development, pick clinical, pick both.

  • High surface area, miniaturized footprint. A patented Archimedes screw and central tube keep media and gases moving for a well-mixed, oxygen-rich environment; Concentric cylinders give cells maximized room to attach and grow.

  • 3D-printed from bioplastic (PLA) — up to 90% less environmental impact than conventional systems.

Archimedes® One - dynamic adherent bioreactor

Keep adherent biology. Leave complexity behind. Archimedes® One brings adherent cell workflows into automated bioprocessing — the control of a perfusion bioreactor, built for cells that need to attach to a surface.

Until now, scaling adherent cells has meant a trade-off: simple but manual, or scalable but complex. Archimedes® One removes the choice. It automates the variable, hands-on steps and gives you real process control, without the conditioning vessels, subsystems, and cost that come with fixed-bed systems.

Why Archimedes® One

  • Behaves like a bioreactor. Built for adherent cells. Perfusion-style performance for cells that need a surface to grow on — no compromise between biology and scalability.

  • Automated harvest, reproducible results. Automation replaces the manual, variable steps → consistent, GMP-ready output run after run.

  • Full process control. pH, DO, and temperature, managed through any standard biocontroller — no proprietary lock-in.

  • Less system, less complexity. No conditioning vessels or complex subsystems. Pre-assembled, single-use setup: install, run, harvest.

  • Lower total cost. Less to buy, less to consume, less to run than fixed-bed bioreactors — hardware, disposables, and labor.

Green Elephant® 96-well microPLAte

Say hello to the Green Elephant® 96-well microPLAte: a high-performance microtiter plate made from bioplastic PLA (polylactic acid). Same assays, same results — half the environmental impact.

Designed as a direct replacement for conventional polystyrene plates, the microPLAte drops straight into your existing workflows, from discovery and development to high-throughput screening. Run your assays and automation exactly as before. The only thing that changes is the footprint.

Why microPLAte

  • A simple swap-out. No protocol changes, no workflow rework. Switch the plate, keep everything else.

  • Same performance, half the impact. Matches oil-based polystyrene plates across standard applications — every plate you use cuts environmental impact by 50%.

  • Made for how you work. Available in black, white, and clear to match your most-used detection methods.

  • Plant-based, not petroleum-based. PLA is a bioplastic made from fermented renewable resources like corn starch — where polystyrene comes from fossil oil.

  • Made in Germany. Injection molded for consistent quality, short supply chains, and reliable delivery.

In your lab, you have a choice: 96-well plates from oil-based plastic, or from bioplastic. The choice is yours.
